About Me

A quiet morning stroll through the forests of Karuizawa.

We took a trip to celebrate my 27th birthday and catch the last autumn leaves before they disappeared.

There was not much color at first, but after a 40-minute walk we arrived at a lake surrounded by these astonishing orange leaves.

This photo is a nice reminder of that day. I wish I'd opened my eyes a bit more though.

Hi! I'm David, a software engineer from Santa Cruz de Tenerife šŸ‡®šŸ‡Ø. I moved to Tokyo šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µ in 2023. I work on backend systems at PayPay, build my own apps, take photos, and am eternally learning Japanese.

I'm really into indie building lately. Outside work, I'm building Shirabe for studying Japanese and Wariwari for splitting expenses with friends. Both started as things I wanted to use myself. I also contribute to Nadeshiko, where you can find Japanese words and expressions in context.

I'd love to spend some time traveling around all 47 prefectures, working on my apps along the way. And taking a lot of photos.

You can find my code on GitHub and see what I’m working on now.
